ANNE ROBERTA (TROTH) PATRICK
March 1, 1932 – October 9, 2026
Anne Roberta (Troth) Patrick, 94, of Alexandria, Virginia, formerly of Long Branch, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026.
Born to Raymond David and Anne Elizabeth (Gibbons) Troth, Anne graduated from Long Branch High School in 1949. She worked at Fort Monmouth, where she met and later married U.S. Army officer Harold Leroy Patrick. She subsequently earned her associate’s degree from George Mason University, reflecting her commitment to education and personal growth.
During their 26-year marriage, Anne embraced military family life with strength, independence, and humor. Through more than a dozen relocations, she created a loving and stable home for their three children. A devoted and tireless mother, she placed great importance on education, health, independence, and strong character. She worked selflessly to provide her children with opportunities to learn, grow, and pursue their interests. Her greatest accomplishment was the family she raised and the foundation she gave her children to lead fulfilling and successful lives.
Anne was an exceptionally proud and devoted grandmother, affectionately known as “Grammie,” who treasured time with her grandchildren. She delighted in attending their activities, celebrating their accomplishments, and being an active part of their lives. A thoughtful and generous gift giver, she always seemed to know exactly what each grandchild would love, making every occasion special.
Known for her kindness, quick wit, and outgoing personality, Anne made friends wherever she went. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and rarely met a stranger. A talented seamstress, she also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, often sharing her creations with loved ones.
A longtime Alexandria resident, Anne lived at The Fairfax at Belvoir Woods since 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, David Raymond Troth and Thomas Allen Troth; and her former husband, Col. Harold Leroy Patrick, U.S. Army (Ret.).
She is survived by her children, Stephen Scott Patrick and his wife, Catherine (Cairo) Patrick, of Reston, Virginia; Mark David Patrick and Kimberly Anne Patrick, both of Arlington, Virginia; and her grandchildren, Susan Irene (Patrick) Perkins and her husband, William Allen Perkins IV, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Michael Stephen Patrick of Ashburn, Virginia. She is also survived by extended family members in New Jersey, Michigan, and beyond.
